I'm scared, please help.

Just for quick background info. I am currently attending a community college. I hope to transfer to UCLA, or UCSD. Furthermore, I plan on getting my ba in Biology there. I then plan on going to dental school… UCSF School of Dentistry hopefully. The problem I have now is I am taking a pre-general chemistry course at my community college, and due to person problems I am not going to be able to achieve an “A” in the class, but hopefully a “B”. I am contemplating on dropping the class, and getting a “W” instead of a B because I think that it might look better on my transcript because it wont affect my gpa. What should I do. I have three days to make this decision, and I just don’t know what to do.

Have you reached out to the transfer counselor at your community college for advice? You have already put in a lot of work at this point in the semester!

Ya, they told me even a “C” is better than a W, so I don’t. I might just end up re taking it later on just so my GPA is higher.

So I am probably not dropping it, and am going to take a “C” and re take it later on.

UC’s do not care about W’s on your transcript. Drop the class if you plan to retake anyways.

If you get a C, you cannot register again for the same class.

I ended up staying in the class. I hope I can pull a “B” off. I don’t think it will affect me much since its pre-general chemistry, and I plan on getting “A’s” in all other chemistry courses.
