Is there something wrong with me? I mean, I'm going to be a senior and I'm still kicking myself for things I did in 2nd grade. I can't help wanting to kill myself when I remember doing something 'stupid' (to most people, it wouldn't seem stupid, but I can't help myself...), and memories just randomly pop up for no reason at all...

yea i remember this one time in first grade i licked a marker instead of my push pop. we were watching Pocahontas or something. it was a yellow marker really gross and tasted horrible. oh yeah don’t kill yourself.

^
I’ve been doing that for the past 9 years :P. I just can’t make them disappear. I can forget them for a while, but they ALWAYS come back.

The thing is, I want to kill myself for very very stupid things. Once I told my friend I wanted to tell him something (nothing big; I just told him that I’d tell him something ‘by the week of Jan 24th’), and now I want to jump of a cliff for even thinking that…

Even when I’m in the middle of something, they just pop into my head, and I start feeling stupid.

Can you give us an example of the things you regret? We can’t understand the scope of the situation if we don’t know the problems that caused it.

I still regret things I did in my past and have thoughts of What ifs? and ‘Should of, would of, could of’. I realized while it’s important to look into the past in order to learn from your mistakes and not do them again, there’s no point in dwelling over it and getting depressed. The fact of the matter is, time travel doesn’t exist yet and what’s in the past is concrete for now.

Remember this: Learn from the past, tend to the present, and look towards the future.

oh god so do i…i hate it when i remember socially awkward cringe-worthy things i did years ago. i know no one cares now or probably even then but it’s still awful to think about

The things I did as a kid are pretty embarrassing to remember. But they usually don’t come up in normal conversation.

Maybe you should try concentrating more on the present, because chances are half the people you know don’t remember and the other half that do aren’t thinking about it most of the time anyway.

I think it’s perfectly normal (unless you are seriously contemplating suicide, then I don’t believe that’s the norm)… I remember really stupid incidents in the past and I feel super embarrassed and self-conscious. When I talk to people about said memories, they usually give me a puzzled look and say “lolwhat.”

“socially awkward cringe-worthy things i did years ago”

omg thats the perfect way to describe it lol. Ya i remember when I was in 3rd grade and my class had a show in tell type thing but we would do it with words we found instead of objects. I don’t really know why but i looked at my brothers health book and saw oral sex and brought that word in…it went so bad…

^^Lol you can’t blame yourself! You were only in 3rd grade, remember that.

I personally do have a memory that I still kick myself for, but only as a lesson to myself of how to view and act in the world. Try morphing your fault into a moral of sorts so you can learn from it. Therefore, it won’t be purely negative.
