I was told at my interview that if it was a job interview, I would not have gotten the job.
But for the most part, I’d say I did pretty well.
And I still got in…

I was just wondering how everyone elses went.
Feel free to supply some anecdotes, some questions they asked you… etc. If you were accepted/rejected/deferred…

Mine was awesome... five mins into the interview the guy said, "I could just ask you a ton of cliche questions at this point but they don't really apply to someone of your calibre. Do you have any questions for me?" I had to really create conversation for the next 30 mins to make sure he got an idea of who i was.

mine was about 5-10 minutes...went real well though...she pretty much said...well since youre applying ed you seem to know about the school, etc, and she asked me if i had any questions...and i just asked if we would find out earlier than the 14th.

Mine lasted about 15 minutes and I thought it went okay, until I had my interview for MIT, a week later, which lasted a little over an hour. Now, during the Penn interview, the interviewer asked me about my background and what I did on my spare time and that was pretty much it. And then he kept saying how he had great experiences at Penn (he never went in depth into them) and he kept repeating how the campus/Philadelphi/experience was nice. On the contrary, my MIT interview was more comprehensive and the interviewer gave me a lot of insight into the whole admissions process. After I walked out of the Penn interview, I was like, "damn, only 15 minutes... huh?" I mean, it was my number one school and I wished he would have given me more insight and advice. Well, anyways, I got in, but I doubt the interview had much to do with it.

Yes he actaully did tell me outright "If this were a job interview, you wouldnt have gotten the job." That was in response to one question, however. Based on the whole interview, I'd have to say I was an individual. I dont know if I did well or not, but I was definitely myself.

e.g. His first question was "tell me about your parents" and i responded with "what do they have to do with it..." I took my tie off halfway thru the interview...

It only lasted 45 minutes, and i knew that his next interview wasnt for another 15 minutes (i knew the person to be interviewed) and i basically just chatted it up with him about things other than penn. my life, high school, his life, etc.

My interview was about an hour and he didn't ask anything about Penn. He basically had me break down my family history including how I was related to each person, how they were related to each other, and what everyone does. Then sometimes he'd throw in a random question about things I do outside of school and learning in general. I was really confused during the whole interview and have no idea if it went well or not. Someone at my school had the same guy interview her and she said hers went the same way. Both of us got in but I don't know if that means the interviews went well or not...
