I'm thinking about dropping a class; I've already been accepted into my top choice?

I’m barely managing a C in AB Calc AP right now- math has never been my strong suit and my teacher isn’t very helpful either. It just takes up way too much of my time (75 HW problems a night!) and energy that I could be using for my other classes. I’ve already been accepted into the pharmacy program for my top choice school (and 2 other safeties). Will they rescind my acceptance if I drop the class? I’ve only taken 4 APs, so dropping this would leave me with 3, and the highest math level I’ve taken would then be CP Precalc. Should I notify the school first and ask? It will show up as a W on my transcript. I also applied RD to two top 20 schools, do I need to notify them as well (I won’t mind too much if I don’t get into these two, it’s a slim chance anyway)?

You should probably notify your school first, since any changes would need to be cleared, or it could put your acceptance in jepoardy.

I would do that. Ask all three of the schools how that would affect your app or acceptance.

I checked my terms of enrollment, and all three say something like “Your enrollment is contingent upon satisfactory completion, with no significant decline in grades, of all academic work still in progress when your application was reviewed and that all information provided on your application was complete and true.” Does this mean they won’t let me drop/won’t make an exception?

Of course they will let you drop but they might not accept you and the ones that already accepted you theoretically could rescind your application - but you really need to contact them and ask. Students do change their schedule as the school year goes on but we don’t know what the pharmacy programs you applied to expect from incoming students.

As noted above you need to check with admissions and see if it is OK to drop the class. If they day it is fine to drop the class, I’d get it in writing. If they say that dropping the class will cause the college to re-evaluate your admission decision (which happened to a friend of mine) then I would keep the class.
