i'm want to transfer in thing spring '11, will a W look good on my transcript?

ok i'm a freshman.
first semester i got a 2.5
right now i'm working hard to boost my GPA to a 3.0 by the end of this spring.
i'm going to take two summer classes to boost my GPA even more.
then i'm going to stay at my current school for another semester (apply in oct. for UT).

however, i really want to drop a course i'm taking because i'm doind horrible in it.
i'm about to fail this midterm, and it's our first grade.
so it's not like he gives out a lot of work to where i can help boost my grade.
will a "W" look bad, when i'm applying to UT in oct.???

I don’t think one will hurt you but you’ll probably want to make sure that it’s your only one before you transfer. Have you talked to your teacher and asked if there’s any extra work you can do to bring up the midterm grade? He might say no but it’s worth a shot.

you need to make sure you get your GPA 3.5 and up to really have a good shot.

and the question is will a W look that bad on your transcript

if i get 3.0 by the end of this semester.
and i get A’s in the two classes i’ll take in the summer,
how much can that bring up my GPA?

idk you have to avg out your grades, you know 4 points for and A 3 for a B 2 for a C 1 for a D,

i think it still goes like that

Well, it won’t raise your gpa up enough to have a chance at business or engineering.

well they don’t take business transfers in the spring anyways…

I think one W does not look bad. That’s just my opinion though.

The question is
will W be shown on your transcript? normally only a pass or fail grade shows on the transcript, I think. You should check with your record office.
