Hey I have taken the SAT twice and my highest scores were a 640 (M) and a 760 (V) is the 120 pt. difference going to cause problems in admissions? Should I be worried they'll think I'm not well rounded? I'm satisfied with the 1400 overall but the breakdown isn't quite as impressive. What do you guys think?

please help!

No, that's not a great idea.

what are you talking about

i'm with you.... 800m 670v....let's hope for the best

Yeah, weird, my friend is also in the same situation. He got a 1410 with 760V and 650M... I mean, that's a 110 point difference, but then again, he isn't applying to any mathematics/science program. I think it matters to what program you apply. I mean, with 640M I doubt you stand much of a chance at top Engineering schools, ya know? Like, I'm screwed because I'm applying to Math and Econ majors because I got a 1410 with 690M and 720V, but i feel that it'll be all right. I mean, we all can't be perfect. After all, it's just one test.

I'm in the same boat. (Same math as you, 790 verbal) Clearly I'm not going to be a math major, but I do worry colleges might prefer someone else with a 1400-ish score, but with 700 or so on each section. Not much I can do about it now, though, seeing as I'm just hopeless at math.

I also have a 120 pt difference, my math being higher. m710 v590. Its weird though because I got a 4 on the AP Language and Comp. exam, and my teachers oftern use my essays as examples for the class. SAT score are sooo annoying!

As long as your lower score isn't what you're majoring in, who cares?
