Immigration as essay topic

Hey guys. I've heard that immigration is a cliche topic to write about in college essays. I moved to the US about three years ago and have been through a lot adapting to a new culture, new language, etc. so this is the most important experience that I have had in my life. Do you think I shouldn't talk about it just because it's cliche?

Depends, +1 on the fact that A LOT many people write about immigration
but it depends how you perceive …if you just talk about new culture , more opportunities , more freedom than hometown , new language
then i personally not in favour of it

It is a cliche topic however you can still talk about it. Just bring a new perspective and be original.

bigepinky can you elaborate a little? Like how can I be original? Although I face the same problems as other immigrants, my approach on how to solve them is MY approach and is unique. Is that what you meant?
