Importance of AP Awards

Hey everyone,

I'm a rising senior and I took 4 AP's so far in high school, but I realized I needed one higher for the distinction award - I think I'm gonna get the honor award. Is the difference important? Do these awards mean a lot in college admissions? Cause I mean if I really wanted to I could have taken another AP and tried to pass that?

So many people get w/ honor or w/ distinction that it doesn’t really matter much. But I guess it doesn’t hurt to have them.

No not really. However, the fact that you have APs before senior year, you should take some AP classes in your senior year. Otherwise, the college may think you’re ‘slack off.’

The awards do not matter that much.

They don’t matter, a college would most certainly would prefer the student who took 4 APs and got all 5’s, than someone who took 8 APs and gots 3’s and 4’s.

The Siemens one (and maybe the State, National, etc ones) are noteworthy, but the others are whatever.

haha thanks guys - mhm im taking 4 or 5 senior year
