Importance of AP Scholars..

I have a REALLY big question; this is really important.

So this year I took 5 AP's (in the past 2 years, I took 3 AP's -- I got 2 "3's" and 1 "1.")

The 5 AP's I took:

AP French Lang: no idea how I did
BC Calc: 1-3 range? really depends on MC and my luck
AP Eng: really good, will be disappointed if I don't get a 5
APUS: MC was decent but not amazing, my FR is typically good
AP Psych: beasted MC, did below average on FR -- hopefully a 5

Knowing that, basically -- what I've calculated.. if I get a 5 5 5 3 3 score then I will get AP Scholar w/ Distinction (3.5 average).

Although, if I just drop (cancel) two of my scores and get a 5 5 4 (which I would do Eng, US, and Psych) then I could still get Distinction.

So here's where the dilemma comes in -- is AP Scholar w/ Distinction really that important? What about AP Scholar w/ Honor (3.25 average)? Is it better that I take the risk of not getting AP Scholar w/ Distinction or Merit by getting all of my scores, or should I sacrifice French or Calc?

Please let me know -- I have till Jun 15 to decide and this is SO important to me... thank you!

If I cancel by June 15, I can get rid of the AP score altogether so I don't have to worry about it affecting my AP Scholar "score." I was wondering -- if we cancel after June 15, will it still count?

Both are good and I don’t think having one over the other will make a significant difference. I believe you can cancel your score whenever you want, just before June 15th if you’re sending it to a college.

Hm, I thought canceling before June 15 could allow you to delete the score all together? (as in it’ll look like you never took the course?)

I have read from multiple sources that score reports will indicate that there was a cancellation but it certainly will not hurt your AP Scholar Awards because the canceled exam will not be scored (assuming you cancel by the 15). You also do not have to report it to your college (assuming you self-report).

The award itself might be a better thing to report to scholarship programs than colleges. The colleges will already get an idea of your performance on AP exams from information included in other parts of the application. If you are applying to a school with little space on the application for awards, you might want to include other ones first.

What’s the difference between score reporting yourself – what is the alternative?

Bump (10 char!)

Its not that important because colleges already see your AP scores when you apply (unless you dont report-then it will be werid that you got AP scholar with no AP scores)

Hm, alright. So take the risk and get all my scores? I have till the 15th, so I would really appreciate some more feedback.

^why not? Its self reported.

Unless you say yuou got AP Scholar with Distinction or something but only report 4 AP scores, they wont know…of course theyll see that you took a class but never had a score for that class, but I dont think they will be that picky, especially with 1 class.
