Importance of AP Scores on Admissions

hey everyone. today my guidance counselor came to our APUSH class for us to fill out the forms, etc. she said that we really shouldn't submit our scores unless we are a senior or we really know where we want to attend. (I'm a sophomore, fyi) She also said that colleges don't use AP scores for admissions purposes. I also believed the contrary of this...

They are considered but not as much as SAT1/SAT2. If you have good scores along with good grades, then they know you earned them. Good grade/bad score implies grade inflation, and bad grade/good score implies slacker/lazy person.

As for submitting them, I don’t think they even look at ap scores from non seniors because those reports aren’t relevant to them.

AP scores are not a major factor in admissions. They may be considered if you submit them, but if you choose to submit, you self report the scores. The official scores are only submitted to the school that you eventually enroll in.

I got 3s. Will be going to Cornell this fall.

Take it as you want.

You only send the official scores through collegeboard when you’ve chosen your schools so that you can maybe get college credit
