Importance of Essays in Admission decision

Hi,

I am applying for Electrical Engineering major in UT Austin.

My Stats:

GPA: 4.77
Rank: 3/560
ACT: 34
SAT: 2200(old)
AP: Took most of them
ExtraCurriculars: In all clubs

Now my question is…As I am an Auto Admit…Are the Essays still plays an important role in admission decision? My essays are not that strong I feel. Still do I have to spend more time on writing essays? Only submission of my essays are pending to the college. Rest of all the documents are submitted… Thanks in advance for all your valuable suggestions

You are only auto admitted into UT. You are not auto admitted into the major you want. Based on your stats above you have worked very hard for the past three years to get to this point. Do yourself a favor. Work hard on the essays and finish the process.
