I am applying to top schools such as JHU, Cornell, CMU, Tufts etc.
Throughout my high school career I have received 3 B+'s total.
This year, I am taking 4 AP's and 1 honors class, and I received a B+ and A- in two of my AP classes, and another A- in honors. This brings my gpa down slightly. Will this have a great effect on admissions to top colleges?

A “great” effect? Probably not. But without seeing the totality of your application, it’s impossible to say for sure.

It will probably not do too much. It is just really to see if you have senioritis or not. If you don’t have straight up Ds, you are fine.

Unless those schools request a mid year report, it won’t do a thing. If they don’t request that, then they’ll accecpt you based on your previous years grades and the assumption similar or better performance will happen senior year. I.E. don’t get C’s
