These are my subject test scores:

Spanish: 560
Literature: 720

My intended major is somewhere in humanities.
Should I send in those scores? I notice that subject scores are just reccomended.

don't send spanish

Is it possible to send one subject score and not the other?

No it's not. When you send any collegeboard scores, they send all tests that you've taken, including from previous test dates.

I would think context would matter in a case like this. If you're from a Spanish speaking background and had four years of Spanish in high school, that score would be worrisome.

On the other hand, if your other college board scores are something to be proud of, and you only had one or two years of Spanish, then it might not matter so much.

Just remember, SAT's are not everything. I got in ed with a 600 math iic and a 650 on us history.

for early decision, what was your proposed major?

economics.....

SAT IIs aren't required...

don't worry, especially since they aren't required. it's not going to make or break you. i'm generally illiterate and pulled a 580 on the Lit SAT II. And while I would consider myself more of a humanities/english person than anything else, i applied to School of Comm so I don't really know where I'm going with this but don't worry.

I took the Japanese Listening in Nov. and got 790; then in Dec. I took math I and lit and got 690 and 630 respectively.

Are these bad scores? I thought I totally screwed up on my Dec. tests so I send my collegeboard score chart to Northwestern before Dec results came in. Was that necessary..

How is 800 Math IIC, US Hist. and 720 Chem and 720 on World Hist. for Northwestern? What about for the Honors Program?

Goldfish,

Those scores are smoking hot for any school, and you know it. :)

what if you have really good sat ii's and only decent sat's....will the sat ii's help at all?

Chloecat16,

Yeah, I think they will help. It shows that you are very studious. In fact I read that the SAT II's are more positively correlated with sucess in college than the SAT I's. For that reason many schools give them more weight than the SAT I. (I think I read this in the book What it Really Takes to get into the Ivy League by Chuck Hughes.)

Thanks for the input.....that makes me feel better.
