Importance of Senior Year Grades?

Freshman 3.66
Sophomore 3.80
Junior 3.95
All gpa out of 4.33uw (4.33A+,4.0A,3.66A-)

If I manage over 4.1 first quarter senior year, will that help me significantly for college, even Early Decision? Thanks
Also, will colleges convert my scale to the normal 4.0 scale?
It's much harder to get 4.33A+ than 4.0A right?

Junior year grades are the most important, then come sophomore grades, and then senior first semester grades (or first quarter in ED/EA cases), and then finally freshman year (least important).

By the time you apply to colleges during senior year, your grades are pretty much set in stone. If you have, say, a 3.0 unweighted GPA cumulatively when you start senior year, getting straight A’s senior year first semester isn’t going to impress the admissions committee.

Getting impeccable/good grades first semester (or first quarter, at that) senior year does not help you significantly for college because admissions know that some people are desperate to bump their GPAs and for a lot of people, the senior schedule is much easier (or relatively easier) than that of junior year.

In your case, aim to get straight A’s, but even if you do it’s not going to greatly help you. But it won’t hurt you either! Your GPA looks to be on a rising trend, which is excellent. Senior grades are the least of your worries (but still do well), as your junior year looks to be your best year yet and that’s the most important year to do well.

School grading systems are all different. Colleges may recalculate your GPA based on their own systems, so don’t worry about trying to figure out your GPA in their eyes. Just get the best grades you can get.

I would recommend you to apply Early Decision. Granted that you keep up your good work and good grades, you look like a great candidate in terms of GPA :)

Senior year grades are very important. Some colleges consider them more important then Junior year. Again, it depends on the colleges. Definitely not less important than Sophomore year.

Thanks! I hope first quarter Senior grades are influential, even for ED
Also, since ED is usually November 1, is the October date the last time to take the SAT or SAT II? Is November date too late?

It depends on the school; some will accept the November test scores, even though the deadline for applications is November 1. October is definitely fine though.
