Could these be a tipping point for admissions, especially if they continue an upward trend? (By upward, my grades were never poor, but my junior year was by far the best academic year so far for me, despite a packed & tough schedule). I always hear about people slacking off during senior year and suffering the repercussions, but I never really know if these grades can only hurt you or serve as a big boost (even as first quarter grades in an early decision application).

oh yeah for sure. alll the college books say that, because competitions is so rough now, colleges look at senior year more than ever. Also, upward trends are always great to have.

Yes, especially if you have a tougher course load. At my high school, senior year is the only year more than one AP/honor class is offered, so I'm sure keeping up high grades with multiple APs looks good and shows you can handle many difficult courses as will be the case in college.

I have some questions:

1) When you apply early decision, do you post your Senior first-quarter grades?

2) Do your Senior first-quarter grades affect your cumilitive gpa? or is it just semester grades?

3) How much will colleges weigh your senior grades? as much as your Junior grades?
