Importance of writing portion/superscore

I’m a current senior and just got my final SAT results back (I’m not taking anymore).

1st test: 790 CR, 700 M, 780 W
2nd (final) test: 800 CR, 770 M, 710 W

My current top choice superscores, and I’m glad because my superscore is better than my single-sitting scores, but I’m worried for a few reasons. A) Both my single-sitting scores are below the school’s 75th percentile B) My writing performance went down the second time I took it, almost making the first seem like a fluke. I’m hoping schools don’t place as much weight on writing anymore, but I’m not sure.

I’m also confused as to whether the 25-75 percentile scores on admissions pages are from single-sitting or superscores. Does anyone know which type they get their percentiles from?

Colleges have a policy of accepting the best score possible (its in their benefit as much as it is yours). Your superscore of 2350 is what they will consider as your score. So, even if you scored lower on one section, colleges won’t consider it.

Thanks. Looks like it all worked out, because I got accepted to my top school!
