I am applying to BU on the common app of course and it asks which college will you be applying to? Will it be harder for someone in the admissions process if they apply to the business school over CAS or do they not take this into consideration?

please help.

thanks.

Bump Pretty Please!

No no no no no . It's not harder to get in to the business school than CAS. I hear this question all the time. I guess I should be flattered as a business student. But if you think it, it wouldn't be a fair admissions process if they had different admissions standards, yet it was still so easy to switch schools once you got in to BU.

i am not saying that the business school is harder to get into... i am honestly wondering if it is, because some schools have higher standards depending on the school you apply to and i was wondering if BU is like that?

From what you said kind of i get the impression that they do not do this? can someone clarify this.

thank you.

Right. BU has the same admissions standards for SMG, CAS, SED, SAR, ENG, SHA, and COM. BU wants you to apply to the actual program you want to go in to, knowing though, that if you change your mind during freshman year, you are free to switch in another school, given you aren't failing or something.

for everyone who has asked/is asking/will ask this question about which school is harder to get into...as lostandfound said, theyre all the same. if you dont believe us, apply to CAS and transfer to SMG after your first semester, ok?

this is awesome! for example, i thought SMG was harder (admitted students' profile: higher gpa's, sat scores, etc). i am glad BU doesn't have different admissions standards for different schools.
