I think Brown would be the place for you, don't get turned off by the chillness as there will be other people there who don't smoke and or don't drink. My visit to wesleyan coincided with 4/20 and their Zonker Harris day which are both famed for being drugged out days, and people there offered me pot, but once i said no they said nothing about it again. I felt no pressure to try anything i didn't want to and i didn't.
The fact of the matter is that people at brown will be very understanding if you don't want to try something, and just that reason should not be one to turn you off. It seems like brown does suit you best, good rigorous academics with the chillness and focus towards undergrads that you want.
Go to Brown, it seems like you're picking it for all the right reasons. It doesn't sound like you're going to regret it one bit. Go for it :-)

I considered suggesting the following thread yesterday, but now after you mentioned Oberlin I do think you should look at post #9 by Ben Jones in the link below. Ben is a respected and knowledgeable admissions professional:

I believe there are some other comments about Oberlin in that same thread. Look at #16, which might be of interest to you as a musician.

Chicago is not as far away as one might think in the sense that Chicago the city is easily and quickly accessible by air. Is there any chance of visiting Chicago? Why did you apply there? I can see that Chicago might be a little scary, but you sound tough-minded enough to succeed there. :)

Were you able to attend classes at Brown, and, if so, what was your impression?

Campus visits are useful but they are overrated. You can't tell much from such a small sample of the college experience. In addition to the visits, consider your preferences in size, location, prestige, academics, campus climate. Read the guidebooks again, Study the US News statistics.

I think you should choose Brown.

US news is eh, the guidebooks only say so much.
But I think it sounds like you like brown the most too :-)

Brown is my 1st choice univ right now....soooo

Have you visited all of the schools?

Id go to Vassar

oberlin has an edible auditorium...............i kid you not.
what do you want to major in? if its econ then uchicago for sure. if its the sciences then smith or maybe brown. otherwise i think your choice is between brown and haverford depending on stuff like size, environment etc.
good luck!
