<p>I think things like that (male from KY) can perhaps break a tie if they are really getting down to picking the last few, but I don’t think that puts you in a “for sure” pile at any of those colleges or gives you an real advantage. Bottom line is you have to have the grades and test scores and strong classes along with good ECs to be a strong candidate. Good luck!</p>
