Improving chances

So i'm an average student, I make a's and b's and each one of my SAT scores was in the 1600 range. I don't think I could get into Tulane that way, but this is my first choice school. I've written to the admissions counselors and have been in contact with them, visited the school and so on. I was deferred to regular admission and I wrote the admissions counselor again and she said she would put my letter into my file for the committee to see. Then I wrote a leader to the head of the department I wish to major in and am waiting for a response. Do you think I should write a letter to the president Scott Cowen? Is this helping me at all?

Writing to President Cowen is a bit over the top. I think you have done all you can. What you have done certainly won’t hurt you, and might help a little. But writing to President Cowen definitely won’t help and might come across as out of touch with the reality of the process. If there were a check big enough to fund a new building attached to the letter, that might be different. LOL, kidding, but I would stop at this point.

Don’t invest emotionally to this extent in any school. No one thinks more of Tulane than I do, but there are lots of great schools where you can have a fantastic college career. I hope you have applied to a few where your stats are more in line with their typical student.

I think you’ll be reject. I mean if you got an 800 on least “one” section I think that’d help a bit.

:p jk.

Seriously submit your 800 CR and your in for sure!

Submit = Improving your chances. :)

I took it to mean he got 1600 total for all three sections.

Fine meatwaad. I’m submitting :P
