I took a practice PSAT in December of 2011 and scored a 146 (CR: 47 M: 51 W:48). This was a school administered test by the CollegeBoard and I had about zero knowledge about the timing, scoring, and structure of the test. In other words I was fully unprepared for it.

A couple weeks before we took the test, they handed us a booklet with tips and strategies, as well as a practice test to go with it. I didn't even open up any of the material thinking that it was all inconsequential.

This summer, I started really studying for the SAT, and today I took that practice test that I ignored and scored a 180 (CR:65 M:55 W:60). Although it is a significant increase, I want to increase my score to a 210 for the fall PSAT. I plan on taking 2-3 practice tests a week to improve my score. I also intend to take the official SAT on October 6th before the PSAT to better prepare me for the PSAT which is on the 17th or 20th of that month.

Does anyone have any tips, strategies, resources or feedback to give me? I am willing to answer any questions you may have.
