Read books for CR improvement.
For writing, just read Silverturtle’s guide.</p>
<p>Ok, I got a 1630 on my first SAT, which is terrible for my standards. Im improving CR now by reading a lot through magazines such as Time. Im hoping to make it to UCSD with an improved score.</p>
<p>It sounds weird but work a lot on expanding your vocabulary. I always thought I was a smart girl with a fairly extensive vocabulary but then I went out of my way to learn more words and let me tell you it helps tremendously on critical reading. I bought the Princeton Review’s 500 vocabulary flash cards and on practice tests my critical reading score jumped. Reading Time will help alot too.</p>
