IMSA Applicant Class of 2020

I was accepted!!! \m/

@0chotona1liensis thanks a lot!

besides sports teams, also curious about orchestra/band and clubs you’ll find in imsa (besides math team). is orchestra/band considered a club/extracurricular, or anything? (in other words, any opinions on orchestra/band as well as imsa clubs)

Congratulations to accepted and waitlisted!!!

@birdie02 me too lol i prepared myself for failure and now i’m just like …lol what

tommorrow’s my last band concert oml i’m gonna cry so hard

@birdie02 That was EXACTLY how I felt! It was really hard for me to make a decision because there were a lot of factors I had to consider when I made my decision. However, I thought that I would be missing a lot more than I actually do. I thought that I might want to come back to my old school after a year, but now at the end of my sophomore year, I can’t imagine going back. Sleep and free time are really dependent on how you are about doing your homework and managing your time.

@javascript AHHHHH I’M SO HAPPY FOR YOU

Accepted! Got my letter and was so shocked.

@javascript

I am so happy for you! You really wanted this!

My daughter just set up her FB account. Can all accepted for the class of 2020 please send me a PM? She doesnt want to put her name on here for confidentiality reasons.

I can send you her name then, and you can friend request her. She really wants to meet you all!

Hey y’all!
Current IMSA (freshman) here!

To people who got waitlisted: don’t let your hopes down! A lot of my friends have gotten in from the waitlist, and as @alreadyaccepted said, not everyone that gets accepted goes to IMSA. Actually, my roommate next year got in from the waitlist, and I know people have gotten in 2 weeks in! So, keep your head high and your dreams alive!

I can’t wait to see all the baby schmen next year!

@kristin1501 Thank you so much! I am so happy too!!! :slight_smile:

@torridblock and I are sitting in my room checking this page instead of studying you guys should stop posting so much

@TheNewmanry Thank you so much!

@birdie02 @spoonfulofpi As Kristen said sleep and free time depend largely on how well you manage your time, but you can easily complete all your homework and still have time to spend with friends. I got the Fujitsu laptop which is the computer IMSA sells, but DON"T BUY IT! It is not a very good computer and there are better options out there for cheaper.

y’all don’t lose hope in yourselves i had a 620 math sat score + mediocre essays and i made it in by the skin of my teeth

Oh also, I really really recommend y’all make a group chat (we used kik bc we’re old) to talk together and decide roommates before you’re randomly paired. Get to know the people you’ll know and love for the next 3 years!

Also all those that are accepted or waitlisted should make a facebook page. They are incredibly useful here and you might be able to connect with some other people coming here with you.

ahh sorry I didn’t know you have a Google chat group. Nevermind!

@cringemaster What instrument you play? I play piano, saxophones, clarinets, pipe organ… banjo (a bit). We can start a band, or join a band. I love jazz by the way…

also, what do you do in the excel program? I know in general its for helping the transition, but it conflicts with a current summer school program my school provides (that I want to attend)
