If I want to do ILMEA or National Music Honor Society (Tri-M), do I have to take IMSA’s orchestra class(es)?

I need advice.
I got accepted as a Freshman into IMSA class of 2023. I currently attend a laboratory high school similar to Uni, and students have to apply to get in. I am still deciding whether to go to IMSA or stay at my laboratory high school; which are both good options.
I have a few questions regarding IMSA:
Is it hard to balance extracurriculars and the school workload, and generally, how nice/mean are teachers?
Does attending IMSA give you a competitive advantage when applying to STEM/Computer Science Colleges, or is it harder to get in?
What internship opportunities or scholarships are available if I attend IMSA?
How is the social/residential life like at IMSA?[bullying or supportive community environment]?
Is it hard to get decent grades and a GPA at IMSA? How much homework a night is there, and how stressful is it?
Is it harder to stand out or achieve things at IMSA?
If I turn down IMSA what am I missing out on?
My biggest fear is regretting the highschool decision I make now and experiencing the repercussions of it in the future.
I greatly appreciate any help, answers, or opinions from current IMSA students.

I applied as a 8th grader and was denied. Have an interview set up. I want to apply again next year. Looking for some insight on how the essays should be written. I think my essays were my weak points. I have SAT score >1500 , all A’s and quite a few awards and extra curricular activities. Any suggestion will be very helpful.
Congrats on the interview! If you keep up with your grades and extracurriculars/awards I think you’ll be in good shape. Other than that, in terms of essays, try to show passion and stay true to yourself. From what I know, the counselors go in-depth of what you can do to improve your application for the next year so try to utilize their advice as much as possible and just make sure you reflect upon your own personality when writing those essays.
