Agree with SamuraiLandshark….reading this site is giving me a headache over my right eye. Need to step away from the computer….

When I grow up, I’d like to be a ‘glass half-full’ person.

That said, when a site is changed so that, by most reasonable measures, it’s significantly poorer than the previous incarnation, the architects deserve to be called out on it. Not venting, but providing actionable feedback, which happily, most folks have offered.

In fairness, there is one significant improvement that I’ve seen – the threaded private conversations. No more having to (remember to) save your ‘Sent’ message, and being able to see an entire personal conversation at once. IMHO, that’s a noteworthy improvement.

Ah, sorry, did not mean to dis the moderators (truly). And I know only a week is not long for the administrators to get things cleaned up. But it is so frustrating to us junkies… when you mess with our crack, we get impatient for a fix.

I have to admit to being alittle shaky last weekend…I guess it is addicting. Where else can I find a good book to read, what is happening in and around my kids college, if and how to wear leggings, where there are great bargains and what to cook for a holiday mail, what is happening with the latest sensational media story all in one place and with people who my point in life peers?

For anyone looking for time stamps for posts from prior days: hover over that date stamp.

I like to right click over my back arrow and choose the page to go back to, in reverse time sequence, back-track, so to say. Right now, depending on the thread (or what?) I may or may not get the sequence I passed through. Eg, on this thread, it offers me pages I haven’t visited in days (and I can jump back to Latest Posts- but not my own profile list of threads I posted on- both links visited within the last 15 minutes.) On another thread, it may or may not be in the right order. . This problem is in addition to the fact that I still haven’t figured out why a link to my own Replies appears on some pages and not others. I thought I had to be in an open thread to see my Replies link. No longer so. Not on this thread, eg. Sometimes, I have to keep clicking on my name at the top, going through all that.

The font… the font is REALLY boring and lacking in personality. I like the color coded section headings on the front page.

Lookingforward…how do you “hover over” using an iPad?

Haven’t read the whole thread - or explored much. But at first glance it appears that there are no threads for the schools that my kids attend: WUSTL and ND. Hmmm, that’s odd.

Kennedy2010 <a href=“University of Notre Dame - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-notre-dame/ and wash u. is right under that. It is a little wacky the way it’s set up, agreed!

Ok, thumper. Sometimes it’s not clear if people only refer to ipads. Sorry.

I hover over date stamps on my laptop and still don’t get the time stamp.

^^^^^
Hmmm, and I have a time stamp. I have to hover over that to get the date. Would much rather have the date show on the screen and have to hover for time. Date is more relevant to me. Wonder why it is different for different users.

I only have a time stamp for the CURRENT day. When midnight comes…it becomes a day stamp only. HM…betcha that is what you have. Check posts from February 1.

Personally I like post numbers. Sometimes there is a relevant post to refer that happened days before. Impossible to do with no numbers…especially on high traffic threads.

Time stamp (yes, for days before today) and/or post numbers would be helpful.

Agreed.

And expat…that link took us to page 24 of this thread…what post “number” was that? :)

Avatars- useless since they can be changed at will. Also annoyingly large. Some have goofed and used identifying picture that don’t disappear when changed (just click on a poster’s name and they all show). IF one could choose once (maybe with one edit) they could be useful in ID’ing posters. But- some have already tried 3 avatars.

We need a permanent how to use this website directions feature.

And all of the other complaints. Just had to painfully scroll through 200 some (my new post list for this site).

As long as I’m editing the emoticon selection really interferes with trying to erase a letter next to it. Also too tiny. Need to upgrade to a COLLEGE worthy site, far too junky now.

Wis…you’re being kind. One poster has changed avatars about eleven times since Jan 26. What IS the point in that?

It’s their avatar. They can change it how many times the want to. If it bothers you, then it’s too bad.

Niquill …in most forums, avatars are used to easily see who has posted. One can look at the pic and know. If this changes daily, or several times a day, then what IS purpose of having them? And I didn’t insult you. There was NO reason for your snarky post back to me.
