Advising Note: Transfer students are strongly encouraged to review the
structure of the major and be cognizant of any changes made to the curriculum of
the program and/or specific tracks within the major. Certain upper-division
courses require completion of prerequisite courses. In addition, the
international relations major offers several options for completing upper-
division coursework for the major. There are upper-division economics courses
in some of the options that require calculus as a prerequisite. Consult the UC
Davis General Catalog, available online at http://registrar.ucdavis.edu/UCDWebCatalog,
or consult an adviser to learn if the option you will choose contains
economics courses with a calculus prerequisite.

@luckie1367 I copied and pasted it for you! I cut the many languages out, and only left the one I’m going to study - because the post was too long!
I tried the same, but the formatting just seemed to be off.
I shortened your major requirements for davis in an above post.
@luckie1367 Ah, thank you so very much! So I added these up and on the website, it says I need at least 60 transferable semester credits- and it comes a bit short when I added up the unit numbers. Do you know how I’m going to be able to make up those credits? Also… Math-10 is the only math class required, correct? This is so little classes, I was expecting to take more. o___o I’m quite shocked right now.
Yes, math 10 is the only math required.
To hit 60 units, you can really take whatever you want as long as it is transferable. Generally students who complete IGETC and their major pre reqs have no problem hitting 60, but since you don’t need IGETC you have some free space. So take anything! Just do well in it and make sure it transfers.
Someone earlier also posted this
https://uctap.universityofcalifornia.edu/students/index.cfm
but I found it to be incredibly helpful in terms of planning out my classes. It is also the website you will use to submit the TAG in addition to a regular UC application
@luckie1367 Ah thank you so much for your time and clarifying things for me. I feel a bit more relaxed now. Not sure if you are familiar with TAG, but does this mean my admission is really guaranteed in my major as long as I meet the transfer requirements? Is it an application I need to update all year long while I’m taking classes, or just one application that I need to fill out when the filing period is open and I’m done with my classes?
Yep, so long as you fulfill the classes and meet the requirements (GPA, # units, etc), and submit a UC application/pay the fee, you are in!
I know bc I submitted a TAG to Davis this year
Once you submit the TAG, the website I posted is frozen, so you cannot update it. However, you still have to update the regular application in January with your fall grades.
Edit: you submit the TAG the fall before you want to enroll, i.e if you want to enroll for Fall 2018, submit it in Fall 2017 with a UC applicaition in September and a regular UC app in November.
@luckie1367 Thank you so much, I wish I could internet hug you right now.
Okay, so this is the way I am- and I’m going to make a list of what I have to do and please tell me if I am correct or wrong in any way! I’m going to keep this for my future reference.
Steps to starting the TAG program at the CC
6)Submit a UC application in November https://admissions.universityofcalifornia.edu/applicant/login.htm
7)Update grades in January
No need for internet hugs, just be sure to pass it on one day :x
@luckie1367 So for clarity, I need to submit my TAG and a regular UC application as well; with the personal statement and such? And when you say update grades in January, you mean on my TAP account?
Yes, you have to submit a TAG AND a UC application (essays, ECs, fee, etc). You update grades on the UC application in January.
Okay, I feel so much better about things now. Thank you!!! <3
Of course. Please come back with updates!!! Good luck!
@kittyucd TAG is submitted only once and you will not have to update it. You submit it the same semester you apply to UC’s, but you will submit the TAG in September. As for pre-reqs, use this as a guide to determine what classes you need to complete at your community college before you transfer. Usually it is recommended to complete as many classes as you can by the time you apply. This is for youhttp://www.assist.org/web-assist/reportOnly.do?agreement=aa&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=19&dir=1&rinst=left&EM=1&sia=MERCED&ia=MERCED&ria=UCD&oia=UCD&ay=14-15&dora=INT.REL.A.B.
All of the courses on the right are courses you need to complete at Merced College prior to transfer. The courses on the left are the equivalent lower division requirements of the major that are required for you major at UCD.
As long as you complete those courses and maintain a 3.3 GPA throughout your years at CC, you should be fine.
@kittyucd Also if the chart says “No Comparable Course”, it means your college does not offer the course. In that case, check if you can take it at another college near you. If you can’t you won’t be held accountable. Although you could take Intro to International Relations online through Santa Monica College, but I’d rather take that class at the university.
@CaptainCal Okay, that brings a lot of clarity for me. Thank you so very much. Also, is the UC TAP; what I use to submit my tag and put my courses on there and what not?
@kittyucd I think so. I forget now. But I am pretty sure yes. Also, why Davis? IR at Davis is great I hear. I almost applied for it until I found the Community and Regional Development major. In comparison though I would rather study PolEcon at Berkeley vs IR at Davis. Just wondering what draws you to Davis.
@CaptainCal you link is also going to aerospace engineering.
@kittyucd on the Planner, make sure you also put the classes you plan on taking, even if you just leave them as PL
