Hello! I am a white male, currently a junior at an extremely competitive public school in New Jersey. I haven't taken the SAT or ACT yet, and while I realize I am very ahead of the game, I still want to give this a shot. I just visited and fell in love with Northwestern, and they have a great program for what I want to do.

PSAT: 196
Practice ACT: 32

Unfortunately, I was immature throughout my freshman year, and I didn't realize the effect that my grades would have on my future. I was going down a bad path, but luckily overcame it.

GPA: (Weighted)
Freshman - 3.2 - No honors
Sophomore - 3.5 - 1 honor
Junior - 4.1 - 1 AP, 2 honors
Senior - Will be taking 4 APs, 1 honors

ECs:
-Speech and Debate Team (Which is also an honors society):
Junior Year: Captain
Senior Year: (Hopefully President)
I am nationally recognized for my success in Speech and Debate, and my school is top 15 in the country.
-National Art Honors Society

Now at this point you're probably thinking I have an extremely slim chance (if at all), so here are all the other reasons that give me hope:
-I plan on applying early decision.
-I am applying to a very specific program for a major that most schools don't have.
-They also have a Speech and Debate team, and while they do not recruit specifically for their team, I plan on meeting and contacting the coach of their team, who I know sends recommendations to the school for certain students.
-My essay will discuss how I have matured throughout my four years: How my GPA is low due to mistakes I made 3 years ago, and how Speech and Debate got me on the right track.

I tried to keep this short and sweet, let me know if there's anything else you need to know!
