I live in Southern California and ill be a Senior this year
I have a 1790 SAT Score and my goal is to bring it up somewhere near the 2000. My SAT II Score is 1310 and my goal for that is around 1410. Then my ACT is 29 and my goal for that is around 32. And now your probably wondering why am I worried.... MY GPA is a 2.82!
Ive done sports, been in clubs and have almost 100 hours of communite service and ive been in AVID for 4 year if that does any good. Also have passed APUSH and AP Lang Exams and will be take 4 AP this year. Also I took the SAT, SAT II and ACT with no studying whatsoever. Ive been taking practice tests for the SAT and have been getting 2050-2120.

not totally sure , but your gpa is low, as in too low to even apply to UC’s

UC’s GPA is still at a 2.8, it doesnt go to a 3.0 until Fall of 2012. If you dont believe me ill give you a link.

ASU and UofA both have over 80% acceptance rates - I live in Arizona, most of my college friends attend one or the other. Just keep working and I don’t doubt you’ll get into one of them, even out of state.

“Beginning with Fall 2007 applicants, UC requires a minimum GPA of 3.00 for California residents (3.40 for non-residents) for Eligibility in the Statewide Context. You have entered a GPA below the minimum. Please visit the “paths to admissions” page of this website for information on other ways to become UC-eligible.”

The chances of you being accepted by any UC is low. If you raise your GPA to a 3.0 and write an excellent essay then you may still have a chance of being accepted by UCM.

The 2012 freshman admissions policy revision only affected the ELC requirement and the SAT subject test requirement; the GPA requirement still remains the same. And even with a 3.0 GPA your prospects won’t be that great because you will be the bottom fish of the barrel competing for the limited number of vacancies.
