Unfortunately, probably out. I think there's a shot, so you should definitely still apply. Best of luck.

^ are you kidding me/him? 4.45 GPA cant put him in main campus?

Ya, isn't your gpa worth about 2/3 of the admission process. The other 1/3 accounts for SAT's and EC's. The average SAT score for main campus runs between 1740-1900's, but your gpa will make up for being on the lower end of those scores. If you don't get in, I surely won't either...but I think you'll make it!

I'm almost certain you'll get in.

thanks for the help everyone. you've calmed my nerves for the time being haha.

"^ are you kidding me/him? 4.45 GPA cant put him in main campus?"

I was only saying that for if they go by his unweighted, which they often do. There are a ton of people that post on here with these ridiculous weighted gpas. They will have barely above a 3.0 weighted and have some 4.92 weighted. I am not positive that they put more emphasis on the unweighted gpa, though, but I think they do. All I was saying was that his 3.4 is below the 25th percentile for the GPA, and since gpa is 2/3 of this decision I thought it would hurt him.

If the gpa's are changing that much from the weighting system, maybe they'll take into account the difficulty of the high school courses? Most of the people in my school take pottery, college study skills, and basket weaving 101. They may have very high gpa's, but they're not on the same level as the students who have challenging courses.
