For those who know a lot about the admissions process, are there any schools that are decidedly one way? I mean, I know the Ivys and such are expecting extraordinary from both aspects, but are there schools that rank lower than the Ivys that tend to jump at students with Ivy-level SAT scores but an underwhelming GPA, or great GPA but so-so scored? Know any?

Many state schools use formulas where a high score will compensate for a lower GPA. Any colleg where your scores are top 10% will give you a strong look in spite of GPA if it’s not overwhelmingly poor.
