<p>For those who got in early, are you going to apply anywhere else? Where and why?</p>
<p>my parents dont really want me to go to stanford because its so far away (from ny). so im probably applying to columbia, and HYP too. but i might try to sabatoge those apps... also it depends on who gives better finaid (if i get in of course). princeton finaid is amazing.</p>

I'm applying to pomona and occidental. pretty much just for kicks right now. I' still afraid Stanford's gonna calll me up and be all "sorry, we thought you had a 2400, not a 2040" or "we got you mixed up with that really arrogant kid from your school you were so happy to beat in"</p>
<p>I'm going to send the common app for Santa Clara and Hopkins because I don't want to waste the perfectly good (good enough that my college counselor wants to keep a copy to show it to the 2011er's in the spring) essay I wrote. I want someone to read it other than me, my friends and my counselor.</p>
<p>HYP for financial aid offers. I love Stanford to death but I have to see how much I can pay. It makes me nearly want to cry.</p>
<p>HYP for kicks. haha, never thought I'd say that....I'm here in Cali so my parents don't want me to go there but I want to see if I can get in now without the pressure of having to get in...I love STANFORD! A lot!</p>
<p>Well. Since I'm going to attend Stanford for sure, I'll withdraw most of my other applications so that I won't take up other people's spaces.</p>
<p>NO! I got a very generous finaid package and Stanford was my first choice anyway.</p>
<p>yeah. already applied to UCs and USC cuz app was due before I found out about Stanford. I'm not withdrawing my apps cuz I paid for them! Harvard for kicks and cuz I submitted at Thanksgiving and paid lol...
MIT and Caltech because I want to do chem and I drool over undergraduate research opportunities available there. <em>_</em>

if anyone else takes me I'll see which campus I feel the best at :) if nobody else takes me, I will go to Stanfod SUPER happily</p>
<p>I'm still sending in apps to Harvard, Yale, and Columbia, but definitely not one of my safeties (Santa Clara). One of my teachers was like, "Are you sure you still want me to send in those recs???"</p>
<p>^ yeah, one teacher was like "oh, of course. Just in case Stanford isn't good enough for you"</p>
<p>Hehe. HY for kicks/to compare (though not much of a comparison in my opinion) and Rice and Vandy for $, that's about it. Luckily everything was sent out early December, so I haven't had to deal with that.
Drew back apps from Princeton, Pomona, Duke, Brown, Upenn. Relief.</p>
<p>there is no way in hell i'll go anywhere other than stanford...except maybe yale - and that's a big maybe(i've been brainwashed by gilmore girls for years). Stanford's just perfect for me, and i don't even care how much i'll have to pay b/c college is supposed to be an investment - the more u put it, the more potential jackpot payout, right? i'm sure we'll all make it back soon.</p>
<p>so i withdrew all the liberal arts safeties i had - Vassar, NYU, Sarah Lawrence, etc. i'm only keeping yale and cornell and maybe dartmouth. and uc's b/c i'm too lazy to fax those a-holes and withdraw.</p>
<p>I'm applying to Brown, because I was there for their summer program and reallly liked it, plus it has one of the best neuroscience departments in the country (they wrote the intro to neuro book everyone uses), and Caltech, because it's small school with an enormous faculty, although if I get in I'd still have to decide whether I really want to work that hard.</p>
<p>i'm just applying to the schools I already paid for/were free.
Penn State-University Park, Tulane, Grinnell, and Rice.</p>

<p>i don't think so. if you don't pay, you don't exist to them, and if you don't finish, same thing. I didn't write the letters. did anyone else?</p>
<p>Oxford, i guess, but i had to submit that app on October 1st, so its not really like i applied with knowedge of stanford. Will definately choose stanford too</p>
<p>When do you find out from Oxford? Are you going to wait to find out?</p>
<p>My brother applied to Oxford, too...he has no idea when he'll hear.</p>
