In search of colleges with an exceptional media/tv/film undergrad program.

Im a high school senior that is interested in the mass media field. I wanted to know of some colleges with exceptional undergrad programs in that field. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

USC, UCLA, FSU, UCF, NYU, UT-Austin. To name a few. All for film. Most have separate application requirements and possibly earlier deadlines than the main university so you need to look at each college's specific programs.

Syracuse, BU and Ithaca.

If you're interested more in theory/acedmics and less in production, Wesleyan has a top notch Film Studies department, as do Columbia and Vassar and NYU.

If you're a top student and/or need money, look into Temple as a safety.

NYU and USC are good for that

The University of Southern California is considered tops in cinema. It is located in a huge media center with many opportunities for internships.
Admission to the SC School of Cinematic Arts is extremely selective. Add to this the enormous gift recently pledged by George Lucas, an alumnus, climate and list of Oscar winning graduates. It is certainly a university you should consider.

Usc, Nyu, Fsu

Chapman University gets mentioned in that context, as well.

are there anymore colleges in the southeast area that you know of?

USC would fit the bill

University of Miami in Florida

USC and Columbia are the best IMO. NYU is closely behind.

NYU Tisch is great

On a less selective note, California State University Northridge has a well known Cinema and Television Arts program...
CSUN Department of Cinema and Television Arts

Close proximity to Hollywood and Chatsworth (the porn capital of the world) ;)...

... also Northwestern, American and FYI ... Spielberg attended CSU-Long Beach. UCSB is building a new building.
