in season partying

can i still party if im an athlete next fall?? its not hardcore D1 its just D3

I think a lot of teams have a 2-day rule, meaning no alcohol 2 days before meets/games. But many, many athletes party after a big win, etc. Just make sure you balance your time decently.

it depends how competitive the sport and school your playing is... if its a serious we want a national championship D3 team you will prolly party very little.. if not then yes

its probably up to you as an athlete. If partying affects your academic and athletic performance too much, you should probably reconsider, but if you can party like a champ and still play/study like a champ, then all the more partying for you!

Honestly I did it but really its up to you. Dont be stupid about it and get hammered the night before a game or meet. Also be knowledgeable about your schools drug testing. Just basically be smart about it.

Some of my d3 friends at Marist party and then run track. running drunk is maybe not the best idea, but it works for him

WHICH FRIEND AT MARIST RUNS TRACK?!?!

My best friend from is on the track team there (last name Cocca).

EDIT: I party in-season (also track), but they do test for marijuana and THC so I've completely stopped doing that (I don't know about DIII, DI has random and frequent drug testing.)

I don't think Oneonta is a D-anything (maybe D3?), but they will put any student on suspension if they have a 'party x' on their hand - think the marks you get going into a club or bar. They use black lights to detect the ink even after it has been scrubbed off...pretty crazy.
