in state tuition for out of state

okay so i got into architectural engineering which maryland doe not have. maryland is my home state and i was wondering if i qualify to ask for the in-state tuition since maryland does not offer the major. what are the steps in doing so and is this even possible? thanks

I have never heard of such a thing, and it doesn’t make any sense for them to allow this anyway.

Not likely.

I think m1ns0o is referring to this:

Look under “Out of State Tuition Waiver”
Maryland is in the Academic Common Market but Pennsylvania is not a participating state so you are out of luck.

I think the New England schools offer something like that–like if you live in Maine and you want a major that the Maine state schools do not have, then you can go to Univ of NH or maybe UMass (I’m not sure of the participating schools) where they DO have your major and pay in-state rates. Never heard of PSU offering that though

Unless you live in D.C., you’ll probably have to pay out of state tuition, except if you study abroad they reduce your tuition to the in state amount
