In the common app essay, should I include my topic?

<p>I always do name, SS#, and essay topic at the top. it’s a “rather safe than sorry” type of thing. it certainly can’t hurt.</p>

<p>my college counselor said there’s no need to put the topic down. I asked a regional admissions rep at one of the colleges I was applying to the same thing, and she said no as well.</p>
