What tips do you guys have to get me off the waitlist. Recently my grades have risen quite a bit and I might get an executive position in the Student Council. Does anyone think those would increase my chances by a lot or a little if at all? Anyways does anyone have any suggestions of things I could do improve my chances any more?

What exactly is the realistic chance of my getting into Boarding School next year?

SSAT = 90th Percentile
I did apply for Financial Aid

hey, i am waitlisted at Deerfield, too. and it's my first choice, i am so tortured now. Are you an international? do u know if those school's waitlists are ranked?

I know, the waitlist is stressful. Deerfield and Hotchkiss are my top choices but since Hotchkiss has waitlisted so many people I guess they're out so Deerfield is my best option. I am an international student and Deerfield's waitlist is not ranked

I'm mixed, 1/2 Chinese though. I guess at this point all we can do is hope, make our new reports look good and find some way to impress them -_-

i guess so, i'm Chiness 2. but i can't give full credit on it, though, i don't wanna be hurt twice. i guess applying 4 junior doesn't make it easier. i've seen lots of people waitlisted by deerfield, their waiting pool can't b that "small"

Ya Deerfield's doesn't seem small but it certainly doesn't seem as large as hotchkiss. I applied for 4th form so my chances are small too. I'm afraid to get my hopes up again because I might be rejected.

sophomore is actually easier. I think i will ask the admission officer first my chance of getting accepted as an international, if it's impossible then i'll just give up... i don't have advantage over native americans on this. what did your waitlisted letter say?

The Admission Committee has completed a careful review and discussion of your application to Deerfield. I am sorry that we are unable to offer you admission at this time. However, because we do feel that you have considerable potential to contribute to, and benefit from, Deerfield, we are offering you a place on our Wait List. I am sorry this letter does not bring better news, but it has been an exceptional year for Deerfield admissions, and we simply do not have any space available at the moment.

Admission to Deerfield has never been more competitive, and our decision is not so much a commentary on your application as it is a reflection of the very limited number of spaces we have available to offer.

Our Wait List is composed of a small number of select candidates, and each year some of these candidates are admitted to Deerfield. As the possibility of admission from our Wait List depends on the response we receive to our offers of admission, it is unlikely we will be able to admit any candidates from the Wait List before April 10. At that time we expect to have a more accurate picture of our enrollment for next year and will know whether we can make additional offers of admission.

We would appreciate knowing whether you want to remain on Deerfield’s Wait List. Please email your response by April 6 to admission@deerfield.edu. If you do not wish to stay on Deerfield's Wait List, please let us know what school you will be attending next year.

i'm on the deerfield waitlist too! haha, more competition. i emailed my interviewer about being on the waitlist and she told me there were hundreds of students on it. D:

and i got that letter too! gah, it makes me feel so generic.

At least you guys can do something to get off the waitlist...

I have to wait to see if funds come in-- my only hope would be a couple of people accepted with f/a attending another school or the school comes up randomly with $$.
