Incoming freshman admit - Tele-BEARS/CalSO questions

Background

I'll be entering Berkeley this fall as an EECS major, and I'm planning to double major in Math. I'll have at least (probably more than) about 38 units from AP exams (getting me out of Math 1A/1B, Physics 7A, Chem 1A/1AL, and R&C A), and if I pass all the college classes I'm taking this semester, about 31 units from CC classes (getting me out of Math 53/54/55). So my planned schedule is

CS 61A
Math H110
Physics 7B
(R&C B course)

Questions

[ol]
[]Which classes should I sign up for at CalSO (Phase I)? I checked the schedule of classes, and it says that I need to have R&C A cleared before I can take some of these R&C B courses, but does Tele-BEARS check? (I know that it doesn't check regular prereqs, but I dunno if this is a separate thing in the system.) I don't think my AP scores will reach them before CalSO.
[]Can I still register for freshman seminars even with over 30 CC units? That would make me a sophomore for enrollment purposes, right?
[li]Do you guys have any suggestions for a R&C B course that's not particularly tough? I don't want to be too hard on myself my first semester.[/li][/ol]

Thanks for the help in advance!

No they don’t check this.

You’re fine, you’ll still be eligible to enroll in freshmen seminar.

Do you guys have any suggestions for a R&C B course that’s not particularly tough? I don’t want to be too hard on myself my first semester.

The easiest R&C B would be (avg are A/A-): Scandinavian, German, and Slavic. My recommendation is to take it with a professor because graduate students are unstable and will be much harder graders.

For R&C courses, check the reading lists in the on-line schedule of classes or on the department web sites to see which R&C courses have the reading lists that are most interesting to you.

Physics 7B (but not H7B) is an [early drop deadline](http://registrar.berkeley.edu/Default.aspx?PageID=edd.html) course that is in high demand, so it should be included in your phase I list. However, the honors physics courses also tend to get full, according to past schedules.

The AP and CC units will raise your class *standing/i, but not class *level/i. Pay attention to the wording when checking for registration priorities listed in the schedule of classes. (The “RESTRICTIONS: FR” listed in the schedule of classes means freshman class level, according to [this page](http://schedule.berkeley.edu/about.html#restrict).)

also, Cal is pretty slow in processing the units from your transcripts and testing, likely it won’t be until partway thru Fall semester that those CC units actually are seen by the system.
