Hello!

I have done more than 15 practice SAT tests (official practice ones) and looked over the answers WHY I missed them. However, my scores keep on fluctuating. Math scores range for low of 710 to perfect 800. Reading scores range from 680 to 790. Writing scores range from low of 710 to 780. (assuming 10 on essay) I have gone through WHY I MISSED THEM YET MY SCORES CHANGE. Help? Am I doing something wrong or am I naturally stupid?

its ok…

some tests just click and others dont. i did two practice tests this weekend. yesterday i got a 2210, but i was feeling a bit down (i spent the previous day doing a whole practice set in addition to having school and doing extra practice sets). today i got a 2360, my second 2360 in a 3 day span. The thing is, sometimes it really depends on how you feel. I think i could have done better today because midway through i had to take a **** so i didnt check my work for any sections after section 6.

In CR, it’s probably a matter of vocab: Until you know all the words, some tests will have words you know and some tests won’t (not just sentcoms–passages too!), so your score will reflect that incomplete knowledge.

Thanks Marvin and dougiezmd for making me feel better.

Agreed; I realized that most of the CR questions I missed were not the comprehension Qs but the vocab substitution ones.

Yeah, vocab-in-context are actually the hardest Qs on the test. Lock down your vocab (don’t forget secondary and tertiary definitions, if possible)!
