Inconsistent scores on CR-help

CR sections are becoming a trouble for me. On CB practice tests, sometimes i score 750 and sometimes my scores go as low as 650.Please give some suggestions so that I can score between 750-800 consistently. I think my low scores are due to lack of concentration.

I would definitely have to agree. It’s all about concentration. Being in the zone gives you speed and depth to your reading. That’s something I still have to master as well.

If you scored a 750 on REAL administered tests rather than a test made by the college board for practice I would say that’s what your score is around. If you scored 650s on the real administered tests and 750 on made up exams by the collegeboard I would say then you should be concerned. I honestly think the tests that have score ranges are good for practice and MAY give an accurate score, but you just never know how the curve is for each exam. That’s why I preferably use the score range tests for PRACTICE rather than gauging where im at, because the passages are basically a hodgepodge of previous passages Ive noticed from really old tests. Ive gotten 10 wrong on a score range test when im a consistent 710 for CR, then I took a real test and got the 710. that’s my theory. “sometimes you just have a bad test” I don’t really believe that, the only way it would be bad if something outside is influencing your performance (loudness, drama earlier or something). The test is designed so that you score the same score on the October test as you would on the November test. that’s my 2 cents. keep practicing bud.

@highschoolerer- I don’t understand score ranges behind practice tests. They don’t give accurate score and I am not able to determine where I currently lie.

As I said, use them for practice not gauging where you are at. You may have heard that people on this forum do the last 7 tests of the blue book THEN then 3 tests. Why? the three tests are previously administered and they are the real deal and they show what you score you should expect around test day.
