Incorporating literary devices in essays

Is it good to write with STYLE??

Emotions...various literary devices...make it very classical literature-like.
I want to make the adcoms cry.

but i'm afraid that the adcoms will basically think:

"huhhh??"
"screw this it's too complicated what the heck is this kid thinking"

If they Put time to THINK about it, they will get the True meaning, and it is a very beautiful meaning

Adcoms aren't idiots or high school teachers. If you think your topic will be very impressive or moving, do it. However, I don't think a gradiose or overdone style would help you though.

Yes, the best essays are written using literary techniques. That -- along with unusual insights for a h.s. senior -- are what make the difference between ordinary essays and the rare essays that beautifully unforgettable. For such essays to be successful, however, they still need to convey the personality of the writer. They can't use literary techniques that distance the writer from the readers. An example of essays that distance are most college essays that are written in the third person.

thank you!
