So I'm going to be a senior next year and I've only taken the SAT once before and I got 1440 :/ I'm currently studying right now to increase my score. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for me? What books should I get? How should I be studying? ANYTHING will help. Thank you :)

1440 out of 1600 or out of 2400?

Out of 2400 :(

What’s your target score. I find myself more motivated to study if I actually have a score I want to break.

First, go lurk around CC and see what other people are doing to raise their scores and what books they’re using to do so.

Have you checked out http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/955109-silverturtles-guide-sat-admissions-success.html and http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/68210-xiggis-sat-prep-advice.html?

Books I would recommend for ANYONE is the Big Blue (Official College Board Study Guide). Now the rest really depends on what area you want to improve on. If you want easy tricks to boost the Math section, buy the Princeton Review book.

Then practice, practice, practice. Join a test prep course over the summer, tackle lots of vocabs (Direct Hits and Princeton’s Hit Parade. Don’t do Barron), and read hard books or articles (NYtimes, Wall Street, etc).

Hope this helps! :)
