I had a question, Im an independent student (born before jan 1st 1985), and dont live with my parents. I get a form from my finaid dep. called the Independent student household size verification worksheet, now the question on the sheet says to list everyone in your parents household, including yourself???? what do my parents have to do with this? I dont live with them and Im an independent so what does this mean, anyone know?

Could be a typo or their standard verification form didn't think to mention independent students. All it is verifying if what you reported to FAFSA was true and still is true. Not a huge deal. You're not going to lose your independent status because you're 24 and live with your parents. You can call the financial aid department for help in filling out the form.

Something's wrong. The (standard) household size verification worksheet for independent students doesn't ask about the parent's household, it should ask:

"List the people in your household, include:

Yourself and your spouse, if married, and

Your other children if you provide more than half of their support from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009

Other people that live with you if you provide more than half of their support and will continue to provide more than half of their support
from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009."

Sounds like you've got the verification worksheet for dependent students.
