<p>Does anyone know what the qualifications are needed for a US student to attend IIT (how do we take the JEE) ? I checked the website, but I can't really find information on this subject.</p>

<p>Umm...Isnt IIT one of the hardest schools to get into in the world?</p>
<p>They have a certain number of seats saved for foreign/legacy students, from what I understand. Those are what I aim for.</p>
<p>A few years ago, I remember the minimum being 600s on each individual SAT and a 80% high school average. I'm not sure if that's still the case today.</p>
<p>Fandago this is not the case today (and never was)... the system of direct entry for foreign admissions (who shelled out loads and loads of money) has been discontinued as non-Indians simply do not have the preparation to be compete in the IIT system... I know at least two people who got in through DASA (Direct Admission for Students Abroad) and thanked their gods that they managed to escape alive... This year there were 300000 test-takers and only 800 or so will be admitted... that's an acceptance rate of less than 0.3% ... HORRENDOUS!!! and even if you are in you will find your life to be a hell surrounded by people who are sharp, quick and prepared like anything... IT IS BEST TIO AVOID THE IITs unless you value your academics highly...</p>
