same here, but by the time they sent me details about my EC it was past the deadline and the interview column will not read waived but instead that I didnt opt for the interview. Not fair :(</p>
<p>Mercurysquad & Akash, how are the NIT's in India rated for Engineering and Computer Science?? (esp NIT Surathkal and Calicut), I seriously doubt my chances at the US colleges.</p>

<p>NITs are crap IMHO. I've heard NIT trichy is good but I wouldn't recommend it. And anyway, when IIT kharagpur is #400+ in the world, you'd rather not talk about NITs.</p>
<p>I'd suggest DA-IICT (dhirubhai ambani institute for information, communication and technology). I've heard it's great.... but then again, they are no match for, let's say, Michigan or georgia. you get my drift.</p>

<p>I got lot of friends who are at NIT Surathkal, and they all love it there. Plus, they say that Surathkal and Calicut have the same IIT syllabus, and might get converted to IIT's in the next two years.</p>

<p>Don't take my word for it, coz it's just my opinion. If you friends are loving NIT, that's more dependable (first hand info).</p>
<p>Harvard all the way. There really IS a difference between #1 in India and #1 in the whole goddam world. :D That Harvard tag can get your feet into most doors. And in any case, don't get me started on this issue.... I can be real bad when it comes to ranting about IITs.</p>

<p>hey merqurysquad, i had an interview with Mr. Coelho too, mine still says waived. It was fine, I never had SAT marks, so he couldn't discuss them. Ive given the ACT, so I never even had those marks. He talked a LOT about my ECs though, asked me abt debate topics and all. seemed ok, can't say, although it continued for a long time, over an hour.</p>

<p>BTW - i had an interview as well, mine says waived as well, so i filled tht stupid form online and also tlked with the admission office yesterday. They said that they will be updating all the stuff on the 4th. So if by 4th it dont say interview is complete, i have to call them again.</p>
