the harvard application process is quite strange...3 kids applied from rkp for ea and only 2 of us were interviewed...

<p>I got this from my interviewer though I dont know how reliable it is
Evidently SAT scores have more weightage for intls than for US citizens because they dont know how to assess different educational systems and so our high school transcripts make less sense than they'd like
So even though standardized tests are dumb, thats what they look at
And that is the first question my interviewer asked. "So what did you get?"
He has evidently only interviewed ppl with scores from 1100-1300. I wonder why that makes me feel good. I'm so evil :D

<p>my MIT interview: it was fine. just fine. not too good or bad. he did remark about my low SATs and Math marks, and said "your physics is fine, though" (a 730 is fine????). So yeah he left me pretty confused. Asked the usual blab that old interviewers love ("what do you plan to use your MIT degree for? where do you see yourself x years from now?" etc.etc.), and tried digging into some of my ECs ("what's the oxygen movement? who's the organizer?"). Apparently he did not know of the recent need-blind policies of MIT admission, and said financial aid "is not automatic." And he remarked more than once that this interview was optional, not required (mine was originally waived but I banged the hell out of the EC office to get me an interviewer).</p>

<p>dammit..1100-1300. im just 50 points away!!! aaahhh... oh well. i screwed im my pton app btw. i wrote the "what actvities mean the most to you" commonapp one in the place of the "250 word summer essay" on the online pton app...all the wind got kicked outta me when i realised this mistake. any of u guys have an idea what the adcoms will think? will they think im an irresponsible lil ass cuz i made a mistake, or take note of my stupidity??</p>
<p>mercurysquad, the really weird thing about CC is that its clock seems to be 20 minutes behind the ones here in Cal.
So 10 am on CC would be 10.20 am as per my reckoning. My interview was around 45 minutes long. So if I posted at '11' it was actually 11.20. And my interview was exactly 45 minutes long which is not TOO short I guess. it was really informal.</p>
