and did u just add UPenn on ur list recently ;)

not really, they had an information seminar in Cal which I went for. Physics/English/

Hey guys, am I welcome to post here? :)

<------------

Why not, with all this "bhaichara" wave going on! :p We talk college here not politics.

Pefectdark9,did u have ur MIT interview yet?

Yes, I did, and I think it went well.

What I did NOT have, though, is the Harvard interview; whereas the other EA applicant from my school did.

So,what all did he ask?

Very very scripted questions. He was reading them off his laptop and typing my reponses in.

Basically all the same stuff: where do you see yourself in X years? what is your passion? what moves you? what is most important event in your life?

My guy was really kind, and explained in the beginnning that interviews rarely ever have a very profound effect on the admission decision.

hmmm .....

Hey why dont we make this "The Indian Subcontinent Post"??
Damn it Astrix, i forgot how to do the bold stuff?!?

hey everyone!!...i didn't know we had our own forum!!...so what's news back home????

I can't believe I totally wasted my time on the computer (almost) the entire day :(. I have mid-year exams coming up, and I had to do A'Level Physics today....

We should sue our EA/ED colleges for emotional distress :p .

And you're still online :)
approx 2min after ur message. You see I'm in the same position except that MY EXAMS ARE GOING ON NOW!!!!!!!

Hey shjanama. Where are you from?

P.S. I thought it was pretty cool that you posted your 111th here and then perfectdark9 posted his 112th. maybe I'm just a freak

lol good observation...i moved to the u.s from india in 2001...lived in u.p!!!

So you aren't an ABCD. That can't be a bad thing. News-wise there isn't much of interest happening. I think the newspapers have gone to the dogs here. Tabloids, they are now!

So how's the three years been? Would you do it again? What do you miss? Feelin inquisitive today :p

no i'm def. not an ABCD...(no offense to those who were born here though!)...it's been really interesting...i've had some great experiences..met some great ppl here whom i wouldn't have known if i hadn't come here...but i'm very very close to my family esp. my grandparents and i miss them a lot!!!...also sometimes i regret not having the opportunity to take the boards and see how i would've done...i also miss the food!!!...don't get guavas here...lol...high school is more laid back here...also the emphasis is more distributed...it's not just academics...i guess that's a good thing...but at the same time..the level at which stuff is taught is much lower...for eg. whatever i did in chem. in india in 6th - 8th ppl here do in 11th...and i go to a really really good magnet school which has been #1 in the state for the last 3 years or so...i haven't bee back to india since i came here...can't wait for next summer!!!

hey! can i join you guys? I'm an ABCD! (lol...got a personal invitation from astrix!)
