Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Composition Students

I am preparing to apply to Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. I am well aware that in general this is an endeavor of grade A competition. However, I recently read something which stated that acceptance rates vary depending upon concentration. I know vocal performance in particular is highly competitive, one of the most in the country.

However, I have a couple questions regarding the composition students. As an undergraduate, how many new undergraduate composition students are accepted each year? Further, given I am accepted, how many other undergraduate composition students should I expect to encounter upon acceptance?

And, with how many graduate students should I expect to be studying there?

I think the school would be the best one to answer this question and I would guess it varies from year to year depending upon whom it graduating. We are going to look at this school with my son this coming week who also plans to be a composition major. I will post again if we happen to learn any of this information. Have you visited the school yet?

I have been to the school but only to visit my brother. He attended the business school. I will be visiting this summer. Any information, insights you find out and send this way is greatly appreciated!
