I believe one or two each year are out of state according to the previously posted article.

Hey ohsnapitsfaux, does your friend remember how many finalists were selected for Kelley Scholars? Not how many were eventually chosen, but how many finalists were invited to the interview weekend.

Other than the Kelley Scholars/Full Rides are there additional scholarships available
to Kelley students? Partial scholarships in addition to the merit money already offered?
I know that Hutton offers scholarships of $1-6000.

I want to bump your question idavis, we are wondering the same thing…

To answer your question, yes, there are other scholarships besides the Kelley Scholars and Hutton Scholars. As a DA to the Kelley School, your credentials get passed along to what looks to be a maximum of 53 affiliated organizations that offer scholarships to Kelley freshman.

I cannot comment further on the topic, as I too, am simply a prospective student and have not actually received any of the awards listed at the following link.

Thanks for the link Andrew

Oh! And congratulations on your acceptance! :)

A little while after submitting the Selective Scholarship Application my daughter got an email about IU Foundation scholarships - one application is used for several scholarships. The application can be found on OneStart in the Financial section. That section looks like this for my daughter:
- Direct Deposit Sign Up
- Federal Aid Application (FAFSA)
- Selective Scholarship Application
- IU Foundation Bloomington Scholarship Application <<== THIS IS THE ONE I’M TALKING ABOUT
- View/Pay Bursar Bill
…

Only one out of state

Good Luck everybody!! Looks like we may know more in the next couple weeks~

DD got a very nice email today saying she was not selected as a Kelley Scholar finalist. Not a big surprise, especially if there is only one OOS Kelley Scholar. The email does say:

As an exceptional student and a Direct Admit to Kelley, you will not need to complete an online scholarship application to be considered for additional Kelley scholarships.

So apparently there are other Kelley scholarships, and we will keep our fingers crossed for a little something from one of these or the Honors SSA.

Good luck to the rest of you!

Was email sent to student IU email or home email?

The email was sent to her personal email account (Yahoo).

Do you know how many out of state finalists there usually are? I know only 1 can actually get the scholarship but I was wondering how many oos kids interview for the spot

^^I asked this question many times on this forum, nobody ever answered.

Not sure we ever really knew last year how many finalists (including OOS) were chosen for the interview weekend.

Anybody on here get an invite? If so, congratulations!
Andrew

I did (out of state). stbemtpynest-- apparently there are 25 finalists but I still have no idea how many will be competing for the out of state spot.

Congrats KM! Do you mind sharing your stats and or what you think makes you stand out?

Strong test scores & gpa, national merit, really good essays, community service plus business ecs…not a genius but I’ve done well in high school with a strong AP course load and did well on standardized testing. I think my essay for the research style prompt and my business ecs & leadership are what stood out.
