Is the Industrial Design major in Virginia Tech a direct entry into the program? Will there be a portfolio review in the sophore year to decide if students can get into the industrial design major?
there are no portfolios at tech. its based of academics, the department feels that they can teach you anything you need to know once you are enrolled.

VT takes alot of students in their program but they also lose alot of students. Some probably due to the fact no portfolio is due. That just cheats the kids who may have great grades but no aptitude for design. Love the tweet from last Summer showing all the kids in Summer school trying to get back on schedule from a weed out program.
