Industrial Engieering Help please guys University Of Houston

So I was admitted to University of Houston last week. I know it not a strong Engineering school but I can commute their and reduce cost by not paying the housing at others institutions. I’m regretting going into the Industrial Engineering Program. I mean I really like The idea of Quality Control but most importantly I think I’m attracted to the Data Anaylst and CAD of the program. With so much Information being collected in so many industries some needs to make sense of that stuff right ! So heres my problem… My department only has like 10 falculty, Theirs limtted esearch in that department and all the falculty are either Indian or Chinese ( NO OFFENSE ) but they are hard in grading and ive heard their not very friendly. So I don’t want to spend my next 3 years putting up with these Professors .

So What would you do? Would you switch to mechanical? The have an amazing ChemENG And Mech Eng Program but I’m horrible at chemistry (although I love materials science … Weird) and I’m kind of put off by all the competition in the mechanical engineering field. So What should I do? I have a strong GPA 3.8 I’m going for an intern this summer at Rice university on the fabrication of Carbon Nanotubes, I’m a strong student and like to interact with my proffesors and build relationships ( that’s how I got the intern) and I don’t think me and these Professors at the Industrial Engineering Depaertment are going to get along well.

Srry for typos writing fast.

Why don’t you see how difficult it will be to change majors once you’re there? You’ll probably be taking the same or similar first year classes for either major. Talk to the upperclassmen about their experiences with each dept when you get there.

Well I’m.a transfer student so I’ll be taking sophomore engineering classes. And those won’t switch to another major. Also I.have a choice for summer internship between nasa Or university of Houston. Or rice. Which should I do u think ?
